Smell of smoke and unease and new grass.
Gentle hands restrain
in absence of bravery
the thought of flight and hooves.
Wild heartbeat stilled by the heat of a gaze.
Purred commands, in foreign tongue.
Voice unknown but expected.
Instinct reining lack of certainty.
