I think I got it from my father. (He once had a horse that stepped on him three times within two days of Daddy buying him. He sold the horse before the week was over.) I guess I do and don't do lots of things without realizing why. These are some of the things I believe: (Note: I give you permission to think I'm crazy as long as you think it's the good kind.) Black cats are terribly lucky but almost never friendly. It's wonderful luck when they (or any color of cat) cross your path because they attract danger and evil and they'll draw it away from you. You must smell flowers wherever or whenever you encounter them. Bees and butterflies flying in open car windows are lucky and a sign that you are loved. It is healthier to sleep with the top of your head pointing North. East is also acceptable but not as good for you. You should never make a bed when you're sad. When you make a wish you must close your eyes. When you make a wish on a penny to be thrown in a fountain, you must hold your thumb over the heads side of the penny and hold your thumb against your heart. After you've made your wish, you must open your eyes, kiss your thumb, and throw the penny while you watch it fall. Kissing someone's eyelids before they sleep will bring them sweet dreams. If you want someone to trust you, you should sit or stand on their right. (If they're left-handed you must stay on their left.) Always smile before you look away from a mirror. To frown at your reflection invites unhappiness. Three people should never look in the same mirror at the same time. (More than three is ok.) You can only take a picture of three people at once if you take more than one picture and you switch the center person. (The center person is the one in danger.) Odd numbered years and odd numbered ages bring more happiness. When facing an important meeting you should enter the room with your right foot first. A lock of your hair will bring someone you love home safely from a journey. If someone gives you a knife as a present you must pay them for it with a dime. (Otherwise you'll always cut yourself with it.) Whenever possible you should stand outside during full moons. It will draw you back to the path you're meant to follow. Magnets are lucky.
